Hey everyone. This blog was made so people can talk about their favorite comedians, review their work, and to keep the world up on new comedians coming out. Hopefully I'll be able to go to my local comedy club on a regular basis and review the comedians.
Let's insert this blog off with a bang. I Dave Chappelle and Dave Attell. These two comedians are quite popular. Chappelle's jokes are racially charged in a classy and sophisticated way. He's been on the scene for a while now. Most people remember his sketch comdey show, " Chappelle's Show".
Dave Attell's jokes are dirty and outrageous. He doesn't hold anything back and is never apologetic. He also had his own show on Comedy Central called "Insomniac with Dave Attell".
So tell me what you think of these comedians or tell me about some comedians that interest you. I'm sure there are a bunch of comedians I've never heard of before. I'll be adding some less famous comedians later.

One of my friends talked me into going to the Klinic on Park St. for an amateur comedian night (which they have every Wednesday). The atmosphere is horrible, and the place is pretty sketchy, but it is free. Being that they were all amateur comedians, most of them weren't that funny, but the hosts of the show were pretty decent. I'm not promising anything, but it does give you another place that you could check out some local comics. I still had a lot of fun, but I made sure that I brought good company.
Since this blog is still in the realm of the more famous comedians, here are a few acts you should check out.
Chris Rock "Bigger and Blacker"
Robin Williams "Live on Broadway"
George Carlin - anything of his basically
Many of these are available for free on You-Tube.
most definitely dave attell is an absolute riot. his show, insomniac, is just a constant ride of drinking and weirdness in every town. very funny stuff
I'd also like to hear about some less known stand up comedians. I'll be putting up a review after I go to the comedy club this Friday. Let me know if you are interested in going.
I don't pay much attention to comedians, mainly because I don't watch TV, but my favorite is Russell Peters. He's from Canada and his jokes are built around stereotypes, mostly racial. As he says, he doesn't make the stereotypes, he just sees them. He's really funny and so are the stereotypes as seen through his eyes. Most of his acts can be found on Youtube.
I went to the Comedy Club on State Street this past Friday and got to check out two stand up comics. The feature comic was John Burton. He is a self described fat balding mand. His target audience would be mid twenties and up. He's been comic for 5 years. The positive about him were his wide spectrum of topics and his. The negative thing about him was that he didn't capture the adiences attention immediatley. This is a characteristic that is hard to describe.
The headliner was Claude Stewart, the first person to be killed by an alien in "Starship Troopers". Imagine a very engergetic Beaker form the Muppets and that is Claude Stewart. He had a bit of a dirty mouth but didnt' rely heavily on fowl language for his jokes. He started off talking about methamphetamines in Beloit and never looked back. Double standards in race and sex, tourette's, and ADD are a few topics he covered. Warning: If you sit close to front he will use you in his act!!! R-rated. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture with either of the comics. Next time!!!
